Every year since 1996, the José María Forqué Awards
have awarded the finest movies of Spanish cinema.
The 2021 Awards will be hosted on
January 16 at the Palacio Municipal de Madrid (IFEMA)
In its 26 edition, the first award ceremony of the year will be held in full respect of current
th
health regulations to limit the spread of Covid-19. In this way, the Forqué Awards will
stand in firm support of the film industry, while demonstrating how to celebrate culture
safely and respectfully. The gala will be hosted by Aitana Sánchez-Gijón and Miguel
Ángel Muñoz and will be televised by the Spanish National TV.
As a new feature this year, in recognition of the increasing importance of TV series within
the audiovisual industry, three additional awards will be joining the usual categories: Best
Series, Best Male Performance in a Series and Best Female Performance in a Series.
The Forqué Awards are organized by EGEDA, with the participation of the Madrid City
Council, the Community of Madrid and RTVE and the Ministry of Culture and Sport.
