A Future of Growth
The whole Platino Educa team has a wish: to conclude this tough year and begin a
promising 2021 with a series of thanks. First of all, let us express our gratitude to all the
audiovisual workers and entrepreneurs along the entire supply chain of this vital sector,
who have been hit hard by the pandemic. Our industry has demonstrated great strength
and cohesion in its fight to successfully adapt to the conditions of the so-called “new
normal”. We also owe a big thanks to the organizations, associations, and initiatives that
have contributed to supporting cinema and the cultural sector as a whole. Because
if they have demonstrated one thing in these last months, it is that culture plays an
inimitable role in all parts of our life. Including, of course, education.
That is why we also want to give thanks to all those teachers who have done the
impossible. Not only have they adapted their approaches for the new health and safety
requirements, but they made up for all of those unforeseen circumstances with their
knowledge and experience, the lack of resources with their ingenuity and creativity, and
the physical distance with their warmth. We’re honored to say that Platino Educa has
played a decisive role in the search for new teaching solutions, not just for developing the
curriculum in the extraordinary circumstances of the past year but also for continuously
boosting content learning, values training, and audiovisual literacy. To all those teachers,
we want to assure you that in 2021 we will stay by your side, always open to incorporating
your ideas, hear your experiences, and adapt ourselves to your needs.
Our launch coinciding with the start of the health crisis meant that the educational and
social set-up Platino Educa found itself in was very different from the one for which it
was designed. However, thanks to EGEDA’s expertise in launching audiovisual platforms
directed at the education sector, as well as their steady commitment to the promotion of
cinema, culture, and education throughout Ibero-America, in barely a few months, we
have managed to become a spearhead for the challenging goal of integrating cinema
and education. Diverse organizations and prestigious institutions have recognized
our work: our project won the esteemed national QIA Award in the Education Sector
Innovations category for its originality, durability, accessibility, and flexibility. And above
all, we have received enthusiastic approval from a multitude of teachers, who continue
using our resources and teaching guides in their classes.
We want to share the enormous hope that we are bringing into 2021 with all our
Magazine readers. It will be a year for Platino Educa to keep growing and improving,
